Live Adventures of Shig and Buzz
Beginning with the albums Double Diamonds and Good Luck Charm, in 1994 & 1996, the band known as “Shig & Buzz” has produced a number of memorable songs, in the tradition of classic 1960s instrumental rock.
In 2002, Shig joined with three friends to form a live version of the band, with Yoon-ki Chai on violin/keyboards, Roger Rocha on guitar and Johnny Hamiltone on electric bass. For the next 4-5 years, the band played extensively around the San Francisco Bay Area, including other venues in Northern California and Las Vegas , Nevada .
In 2005, Addison Avenue Music re-issued a deluxe edition of the first release, entitled Double Diamond Deluxe. The album was well received, world-wide, and nominated as Best Instrumental Record of the Year, at the Just Plain Folks music awards.
2006 was a big year for the band. First, the album Sonic Traveler was released, which proved just as popular as Double Diamonds Deluxe and then was honored by being voted Best Instrumental Album of the Year, by Pipeline magazine.
In the same year, the band recorded many of its live performances, during their supporting tours with the Mermen and the Violent Femmes. Shig has collected some of the best of these recordings to comprise the new live album, Live Adventures of Shig and Buzz, "to share these precious memories with the fans". He wishes to give special thanks to Roger Rocha, Yoon-ki Chai and Johnny Hamiltone for making this project possible.
For 2007, Addison Avenue Music was honored to be voted
"Best independent record label" in the winter 2007 Music & Record Label Spotlight.
And now in 2008, Addison Avenue Music is proud to present:
Live Adventures of Shig & Buzz.
